Discover the beginnings of one of
Jurassic World's most beloved characters--Claire Dearing--in this original action-packed young adult novel.
During the events of Jurassic World, Claire Dearing faced the savage fury of dinosaurs unleashed . . . but it wasn't the first time. In this entirely new coming-of-age story, Claire lands an elite internship working for Simon Masrani and soon discovers his plans to build an all-new theme park--Jurassic World! Along the way, Claire establishes valuable relationships with both her peers and the prehistoric creatures she studies, but when the situation turns dangerous, she begins to see the dinosaurs in a different light. Fans of Jurassic World will delight in filling in the gaps of Claire's past, all while gaining insights into the experiences that transformed her into the strong woman we know today.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is being directed by J. A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls), with Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow serving as executive producers and Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley as producers.
I have long been a fan of the Jurrasic Park series. I think I first watched the first couple of movies in the early 2000s with my grandfather. Of course, being as young as I was I thought it was so scary. But as time went on I started to love them even more. That didn’t stop with Jurrasic World or it’s sequel. So when I found this book, I had to read it.
The first chapter or so threw me off. But after that, I was so engrossed in this book! It really explained Clair’s character in the movies and how she came about working at Jurrasic World. The intrigue, sadness, and adventure all come together to form the CLaire that we know.
It gives and it takes.
The writing style of the book was perfect in my opinion. The pace wasn’t crazy fast or slow, it seemed just right. The chapters are a great length and make it easy to take a short break to make more coffee or tea. The detail and continued world-building I found so fascinating.
Overall if you are a fan of the Jurassic Park or the Jurassic World movies this book is for you. It offers everything from science, adventure, and even mystery. It’s an easy read and will keep your attention for sure.
